Artistic Director, Nicholas Rodriguez, Alumna Liliana Amador-Marty and Guest Artist, Angela Kariotis, launched “Body Language” ~ A Mix of Dance and Spoken Word.  The showcase will also include students from the Paterson Public Schools in choreography by Mr. Rodriguez and guests.

ENSEMBLE OPEN HOUSE @ PCCC – JUNE 2016

June 9, 2016@ 6PM at the PCCC Theatre!

Artistic Director, Nicholas Rodriguez, will preview part of a new monologue, “demolished.”

25 students, sixth grade through senior year, from the Paterson public school system  performed repertory by Rodriguez and other guests with funding from the City of Paterson and the Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council.

On Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 6 pm, the Inner City Ensemble (ICE) will conduct an open-house in the Passaic County Community College (PCCC) Theater on the corner of Memorial Dr. and Ellison St. This intergenerational dance program, led by Artistic Director Nicholas Rodriguez will feature students from Public School #2, the Don Bosco Technical Academy (DBTA), as well as other teenage participants from various Paterson high schools.

The PCCC showing will also launch the ICE Alumni Choreography Lab, which is being facilitated by ICE alumnae, Liliana Amador-Marty.  Despina ‘Debbie’ Stamos and special guests will be previewing a dance collaboration.

The Inner City Ensemble’s mission is two-fold: to provide free and low-cost arts training to improve children’s lives within the City of Paterson;  and to present high-quality performances to promote a positive image of Paterson. ICE receives generous support from the City of Paterson / Department of Health & Human Services, and is funded, in part, by the Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council at Passaic County Community College, through a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.  For more information, contact Nicholas Rodriguez at 973- 684-6507 or nrodriguez@pccc.edu.

On Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 6 pm, the Inner City Ensemble (ICE)  conducted an open-house in the Passaic County Community College (PCCC) Theater (corner of Memorial Dr. and Ellison St.). The program, led by Artistic Director, Nicholas Rodriguez,  featured students from Public School #2, the Don Bosco Technical Academy (DBTA), as well as  teenage participants from other Paterson high schools.  The school residencies were coordinated by ICE alumni, Tamara Rivera Lugo and Timothy Armour, as well as former ICE staff member, Patricia Fierro Rizzo, the Mentor of Climate and Culture at DBTA, PS#3 and PS#18.

After School Dance at PS #2

ICE continues its after school dance program with Paterson Public School students at P.S. #2, which began in February, with Artistic Director, Nicholas Rodriguez.  There was a showing at P.S. #2 on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 3 pm.  Classes will continue on Thursdays until June 2016.

Must bring in signed PCCHC Student Information form to participate.

ICE 2016 Audiition Call BackLooking for diverse teenagers from Paterson – experience is helpful but not necessary.

Auditions consist of a  warm-up and learning modern, jazz and hip-hop choreography.

Parents permitted to watch audition.

Dancers must wear proper attire (dance or sport clothes and dance shoes or sneakers).

The audition at PCCC will start promptly.
